Tetsujin 28-go also known outside Japan as Iron Man 28 and Gigantor is a science fiction manga written by Mitsuteru Yokoyama published by Kobunsha between 1956 and 1966, included 21 volumes compilations. As anime was produced by Cartoon Japan Tele, had 83 episodes broadcast between 1963 and 1965. Then the series would have remakes in 1980, 1992 and 2004.
When someone asks about the first giant robot anime-manga story, they immediately think of Mazinger Z. Very few would not be surprised if it says that the first of these was Tetsujin 28 go!. Japan recovered from World War II and the Cold War very recent, so Yokoyama tried to leave a message of unity, hope and strength to the boys in all his works. He did so in very different genres, but it was with Tetsujin 28 go! with which he managed to capture the idea that there are people who fight to defend the weak, and was in the image of a powerful robot and just.
This robot was controlled by the small Shotaro through a remote control. This robot was a gift from his unknown father and with him fighting crime. The original appearance of Tetsujin 28 was a big, chubby black robot with a pointed nose and western-style medieval town, I could fly, thanks to a rocket on his back. Unlike Mazinger, did not with a wide range of attacks or weapons, fighting using only his arms and legs occasionally.
the story is the same. Shotaro Kaneda is a boy who receives his father's remote-control, which controls the Tesujin 28, a giant steel robot which helps the police led by Inspector Ephraim. The enemies are not always the robot on duty ", but alternating between simple thieves, terrorists, monsters, giants and some robots, among which Black Ox, which unlike Tetsujin 28, has consciousness and free will .
Both the original manga, as all products, maintain the spirit of evil to face if you have determination and you can always count on someone no matter the circumstances, for example, Shotaro, in the series, is a boy abandoned by his father, but is surrounded by good friends. As a curiosity we may note that both the manga and anime in the original, in the final chapter, the protagonists go on holiday to Australia, where all the indigenous inhabitants are very similar to the American stereotype (feathers on the head, bows and arrows ), showing how little he knew of Japanese society, then, the rest of the world.
