of the Swedish Association of Solidarity with the Saharawi people

FINAL STATEMENT
The Swedish Association of solidarity with the Saharawi people today held its annual meeting with the participation of many of its members and by approving work plan for 2010, adopted a final declaration which underlines:

1 - United Nations demand to give the MINURSO mandate for monitoring and enforcing compliance of human rights in the occupied zones of Western Sahara. We ask also that the referendum held Morocco immediately or voluntarily withdraw from Western Sahara.
2 - We demand that the European Union suspended the fisheries agreement and all other agreements signed with Morocco not explicitly exclude the Western Sahara. We ask the EU to freeze all financial support to Morocco to put an end to the occupation and to help end the illegal exploitation of Saharawi natural resources.
3 - We demand that Sweden offers an example to the EU and United Nations, recognizing the Saharawi Republic and inciting other countries to do likewise.
4 - We demand that Morocco immediate release of all Saharawi political prisoners and in particular Brahim Dahan and six other detainees, waiting to be tried by a military court for having visited the refugee camps.
5 - We appeal to the Saharan, be patient, that his peaceful struggle for dignity and self-determination will be crowned with success. We promise to do everything that is in our power so that you can achieve your goals.
